The Colorado Photographic Arts Center is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), volunteer run organization dedicated to the promotion of photography as a fine art.
Founded in Denver in 1963, the Center was the first venue in the region to foster the art of photography and continues to be a vital force through its ongoing exhibition programing and related activities.
From 1998 until the end of 2005, CPAC had a permanent gallery space in Denver’s Highland district. During this time, the Center organized 57 exhibits and numerous lectures, seminars, and artists’ presentations.
A center without walls since 2006, CPAC holds to its artistic and educational goals. We continue to offer exhibits and presentation by nationally known photographers as well as the work of local artists.
CPAC is presenting four to six exhibits per year at such Denver venues as the Center for Visual Arts, Emmanuel Gallery, EDGE Gallery, Gallery Roach, and the Denver Public Library.
Funding for our yearly programing is provided by annual membership dues, donations, and since 1989, a grant from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) Denver Tier III.
